Domestic abuse against men
Women who use domestic abuse against men may use both physical and emotional violence such as slapping, hitting, throwing objects and name calling and using insults designed to undermine their masculinity such as calling them a coward.
Like domestic abuse against women, domestic abuse against men is under reported. However, there is support for male victims of domestic abuse. The police will treat all cases of domestic abuse equally, regardless of gender. Likewise, health and local authority services are available to both men and women.
