Contact Women’s Aid

Scottish Women's Aid and the network of local groups are the main organisations that provide information, support and safe refuge for women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. There are groups all over Scotland.

Most groups (called affiliated groups) are part of the network of Scottish Women's Aid, which also has a national office (this link will appear in your browser history – see our Safety Policy for more information).

A few groups are independent (called unaffiliated groups).

You don't have to leave home to contact Women's Aid.

You can phone or visit their offices for a chat, to get information and to get support in thinking about what to do next. They can give you the name of a sympathetic solicitor in your area, in case you need to take legal action. They will know where the local services are and can tell you how long you might have to wait for re-housing, if this is what you choose to do.

You can contact Women's Aid as often as you need to. They won't tell you what you should do; you have to be the one to make these decisions. But they will give you all the information you need, and support you in whatever choice you make.
