You can phone the Scottish Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0800 027 1234, any time, day or night. The number will not appear on your phone bill.

It won’t cost you anything, it’s completely confidential, you can tell them as much or as little as you want. The Domestic Abuse Helpline volunteer will help you decide what your options are and can give you local contact information for the agencies that can help.

They won’t tell you what to do. Those decisions have to be made by you. But they will support you in thinking through what to do next.

You can phone as often as you want, but you won’t necessarily be able to speak to the same person every time. Volunteers from all over Scotland staff the Domestic Abuse Helpline. That means it’s very unlikely that you will speak to someone who knows you, if that is something which concerns you.
